Title: Category Insights Manager
Position Summary
As a key member of the Sales and Category Management team, this position provides the customer and marketing teams with key strategic insights, solutions and analytics required to execute sound category management. This individual provides insightful and prescriptive analysis of available resources including Nielsen syndicated data, internal company data, category and shopper insights and industry studies. The Strategic Channels team comprises the Club, Small Format, E-Commerce and International sales channels. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Sales – Strategic Channels.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for analyzing customer-specific information, including Retail Link, Nielsen and IRI syndicated data, internal company data, and shopper loyalty data to measure category and brand effectiveness and subsequently provide recommendations to profitably grow revenue and the category.
- Works closely with the Strategic Channels team by providing analytical support:
- Provides appropriate recommendations for future data resource needs
- On-going category and competitive trend tracking and evaluation
- Customer business planning
- Category reviews
- Assortment optimization
- Evaluate category pricing and promotion effectiveness
- New distribution and space management initiatives
- Monitor competitive activity
- Special projects and information requests as they arise

- Facilitates efforts to optimize sales agency resources and efforts by clearly defining roles, responsibilities, and expectations for analytical support and services.
- Develop strategic partnerships to influence category management with the customer.
- 30% travel
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from four-year College or university and 3-5 years food industry experience required.
- Proficiency in Nielsen and/or IRI databases is required.
- Experience with Shopper card data and insights are strongly preferred.
